Since this forum is said to be a place to introduce ourselves, here it goes. First I use the name XMOP because that is where my RR career started. A summer extra board switchman at Lesperence to pay my way through Washington University. I have just completed 45 years in the consulting engineering business, working on rail and water transportation projects in many parts of the US and a few around the world. A great ride. Now retired I have volunteered at the Museum of Transportation here in St. Louis and am looking at the Kirkwood Station volunteer activities. Today's focus is on the history of commuter rail operations in the St. Louis area. All supporting infromation will be appriciated. Posts in another section have provided schedules for the Frisco southwest and MoPac west and Creve Coeur. Maps show stations along several other routes. Right now I am working on the Missouri side, later I hope to expand to the Illinois side. Ron Zimmer (XMOP)
Welcome to the group Ron! I'm also here in StL. What days are you out at the Museum of Transportation? I'm a long-time member of the TMA. (But I haven't been out there yet this year!) Ken
Ron, welcome to the group. I know of a co-worker in the KC area who also worked for the MoP in order to get through college. Sounds like it was a popular option! Best Regards,
Welcome to the group Ron, St. Louis is my favorite city in the world and will have to come visit sometime soon. I am sure She misses me as much as I do her!!!
