Hello everyone!

  1. Hi! I am a 26 year old from the Wichita, KS area. I didn't really know about Frisco until a few years ago I found an old bridge near Beaumont, KS. I felt connected to it for some reason. As I traced the old line I discovered that other places I love and feel a deep connection to, are on that line! It's almost like Frisco has always been there but I never knew it. I have recently started modeling in N scale and my first (and only so far) engine is a Frisco diesel #812. I look forward to reading about more Frisco history and looking at everyone's wonderful pictures!

Welcome aboard. I'm a native of the Wichita area myself.

Welcome aboard - plenty of history here and quite a few N-Scalers, too.

    Best Regards,
  4. Thanks! Are you still in the area?

Thanks! I'll be checking out the N-Scaler thread later on :)

Welcome to the Frisco website Kristina!!!

I'm one of the N scale modelers that Chris made a reference to. Do you have a layout and if so please tell us about it?

I live in the Wichita area of 13th and Woodlawn. The layout I am building is the Neodesha to Wichita line in the 1960 timeframe. At the present time, I am constructing
the bridge and other areas. If you would wish to visit about this or any other parts of the line, here is my land line.

  8. Hello! I don't have a layout yet. I am just starting :) I literally just got my first track and train last Saturday at the local train show :)

Thank you so much! I'll definitely give that thread a look over :)

Awesome! Thanks! I may be in contact with you when I get closer to building my layout :)

Krystina, there is also another Frisco modeler in the Wichita area; Bob Hoover (friscofriend on this site). Bob is a Wichita Sub aficionado as well and models Neodesha to Fredonia. You may ask Tony to introduce him to you as well. Between the two of them you'll get plenty of additional information.
  10. Ah! Thank you! :)

Krystina, welcome to the Frisco website. Although I'm no longer involved in modeling I also live in Wichita and have an interest in the Frisco. My father (and grandfather) worked for the Frisco in Wichita. My father (retired engineer) had many trips over the line to Neodesha (over the bridge you mentioned) as well as the line to Ellsworth, KS. You will find many interesting things about the Frisco on this website as well as pick up ideas that will help you in planning your layout.
