    Welcome to the Forum dws123

I cant answer your question, but, if you need a lot of storage space, I would think a boxcar would handle that for you pretty well.

Welcome, first. If you are talking about owning a car your self, I guess it is up to you. Demurrage and Car Hire, is a part of a railroads rates, basically to prevent company's from using their cars for storage. Railroads make money by moving freight. Rates are raised to keep company's from just sitting on cars. Rates used to be a good deal, rather than building or renting a warehouse or store house.
