    Hello!

My name is John and I am here to do some research and learn more about the Frisco and it's operations. I am an avid model railroader and history buff. We have 2 great hobbyshops here, one sells all the usual new stuff and scratchbuilding supplies etc. The other is a great place to find those things that you didn't know you wanted. I had been eyeing this Atlas 3 car set, 2 hoppers and a caboose (red and white), for about 2 months of visits. I have 2 new GP7 proto2K undec. sitting on the self waiting for a purpose. All I needed was the right project! So 1965 on the Frisco it is!
I have 2 L&N trains from 1950 one freight and one coal. The Frisco will be a great addition to my club trains!

John, indeed, Welcome Aboard! If you do some poking around here you will find that Frisco GP7s would show up in 1965 in the original black/yellow paint scheme.

Welcome John! Indeed, I echo Keith's comment - do those GP7's up in the Frisco's black & yellow scheme(s). Most of them ran in those schemes for most of their life. The SLSF had 128 GP7's (SLSF 500-SLSF 632, except for SLSF 550-554, which were Alco RS2's).

FYI, I'm also a L&N fan - member of the L&N HS, used to watch the L&N on the StL line coming over through Mt Vernon, Illinois. Love the "Old Reliable". In my former life in the chemical industry, I used to ship a lot of tonnage out of the Columbia, TN area (south of Nashville) on the L&N up to Radnor Yard and then on to customers and our downstream user plants on various roads.

    Ken
