Richard Napper passed this note to me today. It is about gary hemmingway (username). ========================================= A fellow Frisco modeler, Gary L. Hemmingway, a Friscrg member, is dying. His wife Kay called me last night, he will probably not last the week. He has no red blood cells left which is leading to Leukemia. His kidneys have failed, and they decided not to put him on dialysis and just let him go. He has been a good firend of mine here in Topeka, KS where we both live. ========================================== Our thoughts and prayers are with Gary, his family and friends. Mike
This is bad news. Gary was a hard worker, holding various jobs at the division and region level of NMRA, but a really nice person from my experience. I'll have to lift one tonight and wish the best for him given the circumstances.
It's always sad to me when I hear of the passing of someone who contributes to society, rather than taking from it. Someone once said, I believe, that "Only the good die young".
