I grew up in Winfield, Alabama and some of my first memories are of the Frisco. Our house was situated such that I could stand at the front door and watch the trains as they came through town. I especially liked it when the freight or passenger trains stopped. I am lucky enough to have ridden the Frisco from Winfield to Birmingham when I was about five. I've been a Frisco nut ever since. All my train memories are of the diesel vintage, not old enough for the steam.
