For Christmas, my brother in law gave me a 5 CD set called, "Railway Journeys", ISBN 0-7786-2436-6. Although I've seen the collection at Best Buy on several occasions, it appeared to be targeted toward the daisy picker market, and I never bought it. Since the Christmas rush is over, I had a chance to watch the DVD's. While watching the second DVD (B&W), my jaw hit the floor when Frisco 1256 steamed past. Next came 1005 (misidentified as 2305 on the video) with 20 or 21. Next was Bull Moose 2122(?) with a KCCS trailer with 20 or 21. During the following scene a steam powered 20 or 21 meets a freight pulled by 1615. Shot from the passenger train we see mail exchanged on the fly at Graydon Springs, followed by a shot of the Willard ( misidentified as Ohio in the DVD) depot. The DVD takes us back to KC, where we see shots of 183, 4405, 4212,1524, & 4302. I’ll have to look at the video closer, and see if I can nail down some specific locations. The Best Buy in Houston is selling copies for $16.
Better than socks and underwear huh? (edit): Karl--That # and title don't seem to match on Amazon--"Railway Journeys" has a different number and the number isn't a match for the product?? Who's the publisher or producer? Thanks, Tom
Given some of my brother in law's previous "railroad gifts", socks and underware might be preferable. I couldn't find the set listed on Amazon, but try this: http://www.bestbuy.com/site/olspage...ay+journeys&lp=5&type=product&cp=1&id=1508213
