I've been developing a theme for my model railroad, and I think I've been able to create something Frisco-based, but that also pays homage to the KCM&O. In Texas, the FW&RG made it close to the "Orient" (KCM&O), not to mention, the Frisco had originally projected routes to San Antonio and Eagle Pass, via SP and Spofford. ...in short, it's plausible for me to have a Texas road with the Orient name that was linked to the Frisco. To that end, I've found a fabulous decal set, Central of Georgia 'O' scale passenger cars--look at what I've been able to do with the letters---just thought I'd share because it was such a nice match. Some of you proto-freelance modelers (SAAP?) might appreciate this. fr1.jpg

I can understand what you are doing. Since the Frisco did purchase the SA&AP only to have the courts stop it because of SP shananaghans, and knowing what B.F. Yoakum, which the city of Yoakum, TX is named after, was trying to do, it is evident that the Frisco influence was all over Southern Texas. The idea was to get into Southern Texas, via the FW&RG, from Brady, to Fredericksburg, across the SAF&N, to the SA&AP, then into Houston, and Corpus Christi and Brownsville. This of course was all from the west. On the east side, the Frisco was attempting to gain traction eastward with the Orange & Northwestern, St. Louis & Gulf, Houston East & West Texas, and a few others. Alas, it was not to be as the empire Yoakum built crumbled in the late 1900 decade, early 1910 decade. I love the Frisco and portend that she gained her South Texas empire and flushed the SP where it belongs.

The Kansas City, Mexico and Orient had a huge impact on Texas. Good show.
