I have it on authority that Kevin Eudaly did pick up RMC and it will be editted by Stephen Priest.

It can only be hoped that WRP (my first publisher) will do a better presentation of the graphics. Compared to the Kalmbach books, all the Carstens stuff has a murky, low-rez look to it, and the layout always seemed awkward. I used to take RMC but I thought it went downhill after Tony Koester left.

Steve showed me some of what he and Kevin have in mind. I think you will be really pleased.

RMC will definitely benefit from new energy and ideas supplied by Kevin and Steve. Wonder what Kevin has in mind for R&R? To my mind, that is a tougher challenge. Even Trains seems to me to be fading away, suffering from less interest in today's railroads. I stopped subscribing to it a couple of years ago.

Have to agree. Looking at the current edition, it is filled with some fairly uninteresting photos (a goose taking off in front of an approaching train, a conductor throwing a switch). I don't want to get into an "old guy-new guy" rag, but I find it harder (as an old guy) to find as many items of interest as I used to. I am thinking of letting my TRAINS subscription (of 40 years) lapse at the end of its run and hanging onto CLASSIC TRAINS, which, I also think, was a better magazine when it was VINTAGE RAILS.

I subscribe to both RMC and MR and frankly MR is getting old. Same old crap in each issue. I miss the days when it would be more slanted to craftsman type articles, locomotive detailing (Bob Darwin) and scratchbuilding. I haven't bought a Trains for many years. RMC had it's moments, at least for me when it ran the "Essential Freight Car" articles. I haven't seen an R&R for a few years either. I do like the online magazine MRH.
I think the magazines have been dumbed down. Your mileage may vary.
