Unfortunately, there has been bad storm damage (tornados, severe winds) along the line of the former Frisco Eastern Division in Missouri today: Ft Wood, Rolla (3 fatalities), Robertsville, Fenton, Sunset Hills, St Louis.

An outbound grain train made its way west past MP 13 around 12:50 after the storm had past. They may have a tough go on their way down the line. Weather accounts indicate one of the strong cells more or less followed the Frisco. Here's hoping people in Pacific and points west are o.k.

We'd like to hear from you folks in the path, to know you're ok. Don W., Dan H. etc...

Cedar Hill made it OK. Just high winds and some heavy rain. Fenton and Sunset Hills [ east of here] got slammed pretty good, but NO fatalities.:)

Everything pretty much went south and east of us here at Dixon today, but Ft Wood got slammed and Rolla got it even worse. While all of this was working it's way northeast, two manifest freight trains met here in town and stopped until everything had worked its way through.

We were OK in Frontenac; just some heavy rain and mild winds. Not anything like the terrible winds that hit about five-six miles south of us in Sunset Hills, Crestwood, etc.

We're fine here in Pacific, just heavy rain and a little wind. It washed all the cinders on the streets away (Good!). Pacific still uses cinders on the streets and they are really messy.
Daughter lives in Robertsville, but about 4 miles away from the damage. I told her downtown Robertsville was destroyed and they estimated the damage at $800. She didn't think that was funny. I feel bad for the folks who got hammered

    Hey Guys,
Here in Newburg we didn't have much damage, but a tornado hit the SW corner of Ft. Leonard Wood causing significant damage to the base. In Rolla an EF3 tornado, the same one that hit Ft. Wood, tore through the NW corner of Hwy E near HH killing 2 people and injuring 70. 25 houses were destroyed and a mobile home park was oblitrated. In Lecoma, near the Dent-Phelps county line two more people were killed in an EF2 tornado. It surely was a terrible day for all those who suffered.
    Pray for them,
    George
