I have a Northern Division B & B book I am willing to post to the Org. Does anyone else have B&B books for the other divisions they would post?

    Mark,
Will do, but it will be awhile, the book is over 1000 pages that I have to scan in and convert to PDF.

    Richard,

You have piqued my curiosity with your reference to the Northern Division B&B records. After viewing the KY Tower drawing in the recent quarterly Meteor, it appears that you have photocopies of the original book that I possess. Since the original is hand drawn in pencil on a manila-type paper, it always seemed to me that it wasn't a standard Frisco "work", but a work put together by the Northern Div B&B foreman and his men. It appears that it has been handed down to subsequent foremen, and it has been updated by them. It also has scattered through its pages memos and other brief notes that provide addtional information, e.g., the only reference to the KCCS, Olathe, KS enginehouse is depicted in this manner. It looks as if it was kept current at least throught the 40's and quite possibly the early fifties. It truly is a singular work.

As I recall, my dad rescued it from the Centroplis depot before that building was razed. Since it has been around my family for such a long time, I wonder about the vintage of your photcopies and how you came upon them. That info might add to the books provenance.

I have posted several pages from the book on several threads on this web site. I have attached a copies of the Lockwood coal trestle. The first is unedited, which will give you an idea how badly the drawings have faded; the second drawing show what photoshop can do. I am scanning the book on an ad hoc basis.

    Thanks,

The book was photocopied by Alan Schmitt from his records when the Frisco Musuem was open. I know nothing else about it.

There's the connection. I believe that my father lent it to Allen Schmidt.
