    Are you in Houston?

Well I'm in Houston, where in the Sam H do you find HO models in this town...I kept hearing "Papa Ben's...go to Papa Ben's" WellI went to Papa Be(N)'s, and that's all I saw there! N scale and Lionel!
So, again, where do I find HO in Houston?

Since Wayne Weiss retired, closed the Houston Roundhouse, and moved to Salida, CO, Papa Ben's is it on the south side of town. G&G Hobbies is nearby in the Village, but it's a generic kind of place, and deals in military models as well as trains

I make frequent use of walthers dot com

From memory of about two years ago, there was another shop south-southwest of Papa Ben's. Just before you get to the freeway, west side of the road. He had all scales. Can't remember if that's the Houston Roundhouse 713-662-0809.
I think I was at Larry's Hobbies years ago, if the current shop is the same one: 281-443-7373.
G&G Model Shop sponsored the "social" at Hooters 2006, so seems thatey would be good people. 713-529-7752
Don't know anything about Spring Crossing: 281-353-9484

    Glenn:

If you are driving to Houston from Tulsa stop either coming or going at Discount Model Trains in Addison. You can Mapquest it and it shouldn't be too far off the Interstate. I don't think I'm going to far out on a limb to say its one of the top 10 Hobby Shops in the US, maybe in the top 5. Everything is marked 20% off, no questions asked. The manager Wayne and his staff ar very helpful and friendly.

    I agree 100%

I usually manage to make an annual trek to Dallas and always stop by DSMT.

    Glenn and All:

If you're still in Houston I did some further checking and someone on another forum who lives there recommended stopping by G&G on Times.

    http://www.gandgmodelshop.com/

    Here is his quote:

"G&G on Times is Houston's oldest shop - since 1945, and if Gus Freitag, the owner, is there (or his daughter Diane) either can talk trains very well. He has lots and lots of small parts, lots of HO parts from years and years ago; and also lots of architectural supplies."

Just by looking at the outside of the building if I'm ever in Houston I'm going there just to say I saw that. Someone ought to produce a model of the building and sign alone (hint, hint Dale at Blair Line!)
