I'm very impressed with all your rolling stock. I'm really enjoying your videos. Makes me want to hurry up and add sound to my SD-40-2 and get a diesel era diorama going. Actually it will be Sloan Creek bridge in Cape Girardeau. I bet you have a fortune invested in track and turnouts! Now it's time for some scenery my man.

I do have some coins tied up in the track but it really isn't that much in the grand scheme of things. My current layout resides in a 10x20 portable building that I bought for the primary purpose of building a layout. It has a secondary purpose of storage for all the household junk we don't use. The layout runs around the inside with three lines. The layout is built for no other reason than to run trains. No realism and probably will have no scenery. At this time I don't think I will ballast the track but that might chage this winter. I took special pains to lay the track as level and straight as possible for reliable running. I like to see me Frisco power and rolling stock running by with no derailments.

You've hit a bullseye for sure with your set up. I've always wanted to run a track around the walls near the ceiling in my living room just to watch the trains roll. Maybe someday.
Your sounds are very realistic. I live across the road from the UP mainline and I get very accustomed to loco sounds. Lots of frequent idling on a siding too which I really like hearing. All kinds of snaps and clicks and air hissing. Love it!

I had an above the door frame layout in a spare bedroom. My father-in-law built the bench work. It was stained and looked really nice. But that house did not have high ceilings and laying track was a nightmare. Only a foot between ceiling and track. And the trackwork has to be spot on. It's a long way to the floor!
