64000 series Gondola diagram

    In keeping with my philosophy of sharing anything graphic I acquire, attached is a scan of an official single-page diagram of the 64000 series gondolas from December 4, 1958 that I picked up off of ebay. I took the libery of color correction for yellowing of the paper.

    I did not know that the Frisco had these.
    What was the're primary use?

    Keith - Thanks for posting the diagram of the 64000 series of covered gons. I found it in one of my diagram files, but as you can see, part of the diagram page is cut off, so I'm glad you posted the full sheet. I'll attach my diagram as well, as the equipment summary is also shown.

    It looks like the 64000's started off as a family of 40 covered gondolas. The top was removable. Over time, just looking at the numbers on the sheets, it looks like only some of them remained as covered gons, the rest, no doubt, had their cover removed and wound up in general gondola service. I wonder if they renumbered those?
