I thought I had posted this once before, but don't see it. This is a Hallmark 2-8-0 that was rebuilt just as the Frisco did it. Added a section to the boiler, lengthened frame built new tender and redetailed completely. These weren't one of my favorites, but like the spot engines, I thought I should have one.
Don- Now that's beautiful! I've always been intrigued by the shroud on the front of the smokebox (feedwater heater?). I think I also read that these were the last of the Springfield rebuild jobs? If they'd known, I wonder if they would have made them more aesthetically pleasing? If the Frisco steam modeler worries about boredom and homogeneity setting in, just try modeling one of the many varieties of tenders! In the modeler's corner, Don, I'm curious to know how you constructed the shroud on the front side. One of this class is definitely on my River Division wish list. Well done! Thanks for sharing.
It's made in three pieces out of .010" sheet brass. Formed to fit over the smokebox and the front and back pieces trimmed to fit. A little time consuming and some filing, but worthwhile.
