So excited to find this group. My grandfather worked for Frisco when he lived in Bucoda, MO in the 1920s. I’m interested in the line (especially the Kansas City-Florida Special route) in the 1930s. Unfortunately, I am not well versed in railroad terminology.

Donna, Welcome Aboard! We are happy to have you join and are ready and able to answer a lot of questions. In the mean time, take time to browse the various sub-forums of the site to increase your background knowledge, and ask questions as they arise.
There was an interesting blog about Bucoda around 2013, still available as an archive. https://bucoda.blogspot.com/ Good luck in your journeys along the Frisco, which lives on in many memories here. - George
Wow! That blog has great info. I haven’t seen much about Bucoda. It was a little town that was subsumed by cotton fields long ago. Thank you, thank you, thank you for sending me the link.
A friend works for USPS at the Tulsa distribution center and said they have been slammed with packages this year. They are loading/unloading trucks outside because the building is full of packages and only have 250 people this year, in previous years there was 500. Also equaled last year's total about a week before Thanksgiving. A few of the machines to process mail are down from excessive use. Joe
First of all. Most welcome Donna! Very glade to see you here. I am sure there are a lot of people here that can help you, and us all, to learn a bunch!
