Thanks so much Roger and everyone for making this available. All sorts of good things in here. It's rare to get snapshots in time like this. Gregg
I recently picked up a copy of a Frisco Operating Data Sheet to add to my collection of railroad memorabilia. It’s pretty similar to the one posted back in 2017 in this thread but I noticed a couple of differences in my version. The cover says Frisco Lines instead of just Frisco and has a few trains with later updates. For example, my copy has a schedule for # 222 dated 7/24/80 while Roger’s version is dated 8/25/78. I’m assuming the differences are due to whoever had my copy used an older binder and had updates later into 1980. I’ve attached a couple of photographs to illustrate. Does anyone know how common these were and who would get issued to? I’m assuming Transportation Officers and maybe yardmasters? John
I've gone ahead and scanned in the through freights and locals from the Operating Data Sheets book I recently acquired. Since the pages of the original are small, I scanned three pages to a PDF page. I also put together a list below of the through freights in it and the effective dates of the schedules. Hopefully others on the list find useful. If anyone has earlier copies of Operating Data Sheets, I would enjoy getting a copy of it. Vol, Thank you for sharing that. Always nice to have more info on Frisco freight operations available to us. Gabriel G.
Anyone that has Frisco Operating Data Sheets, please let us know so we can see about getting them scanned and posted to preserve the valuable information they contain. If you have them stashed in boxes and do not have a clear disposition plan left for your heirs, they may be lost forever.
I remembered now where I got that ODS sheet that I posted in the 530/531 thread, because it was not this site. It's on wx4.org which is a treasure trove for timetables and other documents for American railroads especially if your an SP fan. They claim to have an almost complete collection of SP timetables since 1916. Anyways, the Moore Collection is the only place that has a decent amount of Frisco documents but there are some very good ones including two sets of ODS sheets. https://wx4.org/to/foam/maps/and_timetables7.html ~1966 ODS https://wx4.org/to/foam/maps/1-Moore/1966-68SLSF&subsidiaries_FreightOperatingDataSheets-Moore.pdf ~1975 ODS https://wx4.org/to/foam/maps/1-Moore/1975SLSF&subsidiaries_FreightOperatingDataSheets_partial-Moore.pdf
