Ever since I met all the guys I have raised my standards to ultimate realism in my layout ventures and practicing and experimenting with new techniques to make something plastic not look plastic. Plus I am modeling winter and my thinking a lot about how to lay down snow without itlooking fake. If you have any advice from your end it wont go unappreciated nor ignored.

Oh before I forget, I just landed a co-starring role in a movie titled JOE with Nicolas Cage so I will be filming from October 29th to December 6th. Look for it at the movies in about a year!!!!

Howdy again I just wanted to report that I am having a bit of trouble finding a mentor here even though I am working on my GOLDEN SPIKE award without hesitation. I was informed through both groups here that although active members, not many are active with the AP. So although frustrated, I will push on. I am going to a train show this coming weekend which is sponsored by UP and put on by the SAMRA so maybe I will have some luck there. As a bit of good news, we are buying a 7 acre ranch SE of San Antonio that has a 3000 SF building in which my wife told me I can have to build my EMPIRE! So I am also actively trying to plan a layout that will fill that up! So far so good, just a little curious as to what all this holds for me.

That is great news. Now it is my hope you get involved in the Achievement Program (A P). Look up the Nmra.org website. You can find all the info you need on it. If at all possible and get yourself a mentor. Someone locally. I would suggest you start out by getting your Golden Spike award. Most of all do not read into the requirements more than is there. That is where many people get discouraged. I will help you as much as I am able. It took me two years to get mine done. I spent a lot of time doing it. I did have kind of a head start as I got my association Official certificate 20+ years ago. Do not let the regulations intimidate you. This is all about learning, meeting new friends and having fun.
