This is 101 at Paola, KS
You are saying the location is wrong then?
Boy, I remember the night time vision of one of these arriving at Webster Groves, bringing my Grandpa McGilvry up for a visit! :0)
Looks like the depot also sports the later "Cream" scheme which Karl has described in his recent document! And, it's spot-on for the color that Rick McClellan has used for his Lenexa, KS depot on his Northern Division layout.
Yes, I am saying that this is not Nichols Jct; it is Paola, KS, and the train is southbound 101, The Southland. It is easy to see where the recently-retired East Main was located.
The freight house (in the background) has been painted the "tan" color, which was the last livery used by the Frisco on its depots. While my dad served as the Roadmaster on the KC Sub, his office was in the Paola Passenger depot.
Are there any E8s still in existence from the Frisco?
