I'm to the stage to start permanently fixing the track to the roadbed. The last time I did this everyone was using nails or spikes. The new method is to use caulk. On this website if you run a search on caulk you will come across an article written by Chuck Hitchcock and the recommendation for a specific type made by DAP. Mark D also comments you want to use a product that is sticky and gives you time to adjust before it hardens.

I stopped at Lowes on the way home and the type Chuck mentioned was not on the shelve. I think Chuck's article was written some time ago.
So, anyone with experience in this area what are you using that has the characteristics Mark mentioned.|-|

    Thanks for your help.

In Modeling of the Frisco, General forum, I started a thread about Glues last week, I posted the latest product that Chuck Hitchcock is using. Since his article the fine people at DAP have worked closely with him in providing their recommendations and his providing feedback. It is the product that is currently being used by Rick McClellan and Mike McLain.

The link to the Glues Thread is:

The specific product is DAP Dynaflex 230 which is a clear, clear-drying Indoor/Outdoor caulk.

I got mine at Ace Hardware, their house brand. Any clear adhesive acrylic caulk will do. I think I posted a picture of it on here but I'll be darned if I can find it.
