    U25B SLSF 811 - Horn Type - Inquiry

    I am installing a SoundTraxx in my 44-year-old brass model of U25B SLSF 811.

    Which 3-trumpet horn should I chose?

    Also, was the bell the standard GE bell?

    Doug,

    As far as the horn part, use the Utah Pacific GE horn.

    Do not know what to use the get the correct sound.

    Doug,

    Go to Bowser-trains.com web site and click on CalScale, then go to diesel parts.

    They have a good selection of horns.

    Not sure what SLSF 811 had on its hood, a Leslie S3LR3-3 or was it a Leslie 5 chime?

    I'll use the Leslie 3-chime sound. The ALCO U-25B brass model has a 3-chime casting. I see that my query wasn't specific enough.

    Most all of the pictures of SLSF 811 show an S3L, so your choice would be appropriate.
