The Great Train Expo is scheduled in St. Charles at the new Convention Center, Saturday and Sunday, January 29 & 30, 10 am to 4 pm. Hope to see ya there. Dan
Great, Craig. I am pretty sure its Saturday for me as well. Sometime close to the opening time. I'll be around any large scale stuff or books! Later, Dan
If it's a snowin' I ain't a goin' 'cause St. Louis traffic is bad enough without the added headache of a snow storm!
"If it's a snowin' I ain't a goin' 'cause St. Louis traffic is bad enough without the added headache of a snow storm!" I can't argue with logic...
Had a good time at the show. Was there 10:15 till almost noon. Lots of good stuff. Bought a couple of the t-shirts pointed out on an earlier thread (thanks for the rebel rails heads up). Drooled over the Frisco Power book. I didn't see anyone from the forum, but it was easy to miss folks. I was kept on my toes by the tight confines and between looking at the stuff and trying not to run over anyone. I did have my name tag on.
Well, shoot!! I was there from about 10:30 till about noon as well!! Had on my Train patch vest, and my Frisco.org badge. A new Aristocraft Eggliner came home with me! Now, to repaint. If not familiar with it, it is a tongue in cheek model of a double ended streamlined observation car. I think maybe the Meteor and the K.C. Florida Special!! My G scale guru John was under every one elses prices, but, he always is! Dan
I can understand missing each other. I was wearing my Arkansas & Missouri t-shirt (gift from my father, thanks dad), my Baptist Bible College hat (go kids...) and walking with my wife. I saw some of the grandchildren's next presents there. Shameless announcement... my son and his wife are expecting again (their 4th). Yes, they know where they're coming from, and took precautions, but the Lord over ruled again. . We're all excited.
Congrats Craig! Grandchildren are one of the best things in the world! I was going to try to make it to the St Chuck train show, but got tied up. My wife and I didn't have lunch until 4pm! Ken
I enjoyed my visit to the Train Expo from 10:30 to just after Noon on Saturday. It would have been difficult to spot people in the crowd, though I did look around. One fellow with a prominent Coonskin on his shirt said he had never heard of Frisco.org. Of course, I supported the exhibitors ($$) and picked up copy of Frisco in Color.
