The Latest issue of "Classic Trains" has a brief annecdote in its "The Way it Was" section entitled the "First Train to Tower Goves Usually Wins"

In one of the articles on RPO's, there is also a shot of Flying Ebony at KCUS.

The local hobby shop has for sale a copy of Rails, Rivalry and Romance. It's an excellent book dedicated to the railroad history of Ft Scott and Boubon County, Kansas. It contains lots of maps and photos, and it's a good read for the Frisco, MKT or MP fan. It's priced at a mere $99. If there is any interest let me know, and I'll provide a contact.
