    Howdy,

If you haven't had a chance to stop by the Texas Western Model Railroad Club in Fort Worth, TX, then this weekend is your chance. We are hosting an open house from 7pm to 10pm on Saturday, November 18th, and we would love to have you visit us.

The 600 foot mainline is DCC controlled, and the locomotives are sound equipped. Although major construction is nearing completion on the 4000 square foot layout, there are still plenty of modeling projects to enjoy.

We operate the 1944 through 1959 era with steam and diesel locomotives. The largest brass steam locomotives easily glide around 36 inch minimum radius track enhanced with easements on the main, passing sidings, and most of larger radii. You find Frisco diesels and steam locomotives sharing the load between all the major cities.

The Texas Western operates one of the largest HOn3 narrow gauge layouts in Texas. The 275 foot narrow gauge main line and nine towns model the complete D&RGW operation from Alamosa to Durango including the climb to the top of Cumbres Pass. The dual gauge Alamosa turntable complements the three rail yard and turns both narrow gauge and standard gauge locomotives to lead trains headed to the points of the compass. You’ll also find the RGS represented on the layout. Chama Yard is very close to completion with only a few shingles needed to complete the scene.

We are easy to find. You'll find directions on our website: http://www.texaswesternmrc.org/2 Location Page/Location frm.htm and please do visit our site at http://www.texaswesternmrc.org.

    Ya'll come,
    mike
