1955 the railroad built a HO scale model of Tennesee Yard For those of us who model the Frisco, space is always an issue. For the Frisco this wasn't a problem. During the spring of 1955 the railroad built a HO scale model of its soon to be built Tennesee Yard. The model was full size, except for 800 feet of length, which omitted through the "bowl" section of the yard. After the model was dismantled, my father obtained some of the cars, track, and turnouts. The track was brass code 100 flex track. The cars and track were used on our first layout, and bit and pieces of th model still may exist in my father's basement. The pictures were tken by my dad during May 1955.
Re: 1955 the railroad built a HO scale model of Tennesee Yard No one ever responded to these posts but these are incredible pictures! Charlie
Charlie's question about locating these photos got me thinking: where was this model stored when built by the Frisco? Looks rather like the steam backshop at West Springfield. Best Regards,
Wow! Notice that even the real railroads used "Tent Cards" to identify tracks, etc. on their model railroads. Back to the basement to put more up on the River City Railroad & Amusement Co.
Re: 1955 the railroad built a HO scale model of Tennesee Yard It was dismantled. Reread Karl's first post. Paul
