Seems I remember in an earlier thread that Tenax cement was now being sold by someone else with a different name?? Can anyone recall the details? Might have been Micromark, but I'm not sure. Thanks, Tom G.
Answered my own question. Tenax (or similar) is now sold by Micromark under the name "Same Stuff." Tom G.
Isn't Tenax mostly MEK? I bought a pint of MEK at the hardware store, and poured some in one of those old Tenax/Ambroid bottles to use.
Tenax was a formulation of Methylene Chloride, as was Ambroid Pro-Weld. Micro Mark Same Stuff contains Methylene Chloride. In my experience, Methylene Chloride provides a deeper bond in the adjoining styrene pieces than Methyl Ethyl Ketone.
This product seems to be mostly Methylene Chloride (DiChlo): https://www.menards.com/main/paint-...-and-varnish-remover-1-qt/p-1444444211937.htm https://www.menards.com/main/items/media/SUNNY001/SDS/SDS5619073.pdf I may try it sometime, but I wonder if it's viscous...
