Re: SL-SF F9B 143 Tom, one tool that I bought that helps prevent broken tiny drill bits is this Tamiya drill. It comes as a kit but is great for using those tiny bits. There's more info here: http://model-railroad-hobbyist.com/node/11404
Re: SL-SF F9B 143 Thanks guys, I appreciate the kind words. Hi Keith, Thats cool, I like tools and dont have this one , it shows there needs to be a modification to hold #80 bits. Have you done the modification?
Re: SL-SF F9B 143 If someone decides to go with the modifications, I can provide the adapter that will make the chuck hold Dremel collets securely.
Keith, do you still have any adapters available? I am interested in getting one of these drills, but have no way of making the adapter per the article you referenced. How many of the dremel collets did you buy? I can find only four available at Walthers even though they show eight are possible. Will the 483 collet work on other sizes besides the #80, or do I need to buy others for other small drill bits? Thanks for any help, ?Terry
Terry, I bought Dremel collets number 480, 481, 482, and 483; http://www.dremel.com/en-us/Accesso....aspx?catid=2005&catname=Chucks+&+Collets Those four will cover just about any small bit that you want to use. I make the adapters from aluminum stand-offs. It takes me about 15 minutes to make one. I will make them based on demand.
Thanks, Keith, those were the four available and have been ordered. I sent you a pm concerning the adapter and another issue. Thanks, again. Terry
