I would like to hear from those of us here on Frisco.org that plan to attend. A couple of years ago several of us got together at the meet and went to lunch to gether at a local burger joint. I am hoping that maybe we could do that again.
I look forward to seeing you at the meet.

    Bob,

Not able to go due to a prior commitment. The Omaha gang is coming to operate on the 1950 version of the Frisco along with Steve Priest's Santa Fe on the 18th.

    Hope you find some bargains.

    Rick:
We will miss you and I know you will have fun. I really do not need anything but turnouts and I hope to get several while I am there.
I tried the technique that you use to lay track, I love it. The track looks much straighter and no kinks like with the track nails. I only had one mishap while laying track and that was accidentally gluing my arm to the layout. Oh well I can tell everyone those are weeds. I am working on the layout again and having fun again. No pressure at all this time. It is quite enjoyable actually. I have heard rumors that there is a certain N scaler here in town that wants to operate my layout. He will just have to wait until I get the "other" side of town finished. Hope to see you soon.

Hey, I think I just got an offer to be chauffered to Springfield for the Meet. I think I will accept only if the driver promies not to tune the radio while driving.

P.S. I'm tring to think who that other N-Scaler is in Parsons?

    Bob -

    Hmmm! This has definite possibilities!

I will be in Rolla for my annual Academy of Chemical Engineering meetings at Mo S&T on Thursday, 4/16 and Friday, 4/17, so I'm already over half the way there. Let me see what I can do.

Assuming I can make it to Springfield Saturday, it would be terrific to join all of you for a frisco.org lunch. I'd like that very much! - I know many of you from our frisco.org discussions, but there are many I have not met in person. And, there are others from the FMIG days that I have not seen in years.

    Re: Springfield Train Meet

The train meet is just 2 days away. At least 3 of us will be getting together for lunch (Ken Wulfert Mike Peters and myself). Anyone that is interested , please plan to meet near the registration table at noon on Saturday. If there is a clinic that has not concluded by then, that some of us are in we may have to move the time. If you are interested Private message me and I can give you my cell number.

I hope to meet up with you guys too. But my plans are still kinda sketchy. If I can get away from work early enough and if I drive instead of riding with someone else I will be joining you for lunch.

    So close and yet...

I'm in Springfield this weekend, but as the timing would have it, I'm committed to lunch celebrating my wife's and son's birthdays Saturday. I still plan to get away long enough to check out the show with my son and grandson while the ladies shop. It'll be my grandson's first model train show, so it has to be Frisco :).

    Re: Springfield Train Meet

I just got back from the meet. I got a what I was looking for, and then some. I was looking for a frisco GP15-1, 38-2, or 40-2, or a SW1500 or a MP15. I looked and didn't see any frisco Ho scale locomotives suprisingly. So I bouth 7 cars, here's what I got: a FRISCO 50' gondola, to 50' FRISCO box cars, a RIO GRANDE 3 bay covered hopper, a CB&Q cylindracle hopper, and another covered hopper, I also got a ATSF 4 bay open hopper. But I went back to the KND collectibles spot looking for KD couplers, didn't have any, but I saw a Atlas Trainman GP38-2 paint in frisco O/W, BRAND NEW! I got it. Just took iot for a test run and it runs good! I still have yet to test the cars. I'll also have to see about an MU with my Athearn GP40-2. I'll post pick later.

    Re: Springfield Train Meet

The show was alot of fun. I met up with some old friends and made some new ones. Here is a list of those of us who got together at Fuddruckers for lunch.
Mike Peters, Dale Rush,David Backus,Ray Wells,Jim Taylor,Ken Wulfert,Steve Marquess, Ned Mayes, Dan Batson, Brad Sloan,Ron Williams and his Grandson Miles Williams and of course myself. It was a great time of storytelling and friendship.
The Frisco modelers group was well represented in the contest with at least
3 first places and 1 second place. there may have been more but these are all I am sure of. The 3 first places were in the Steam,Diesel and Frieght car catagories. The second place was in the Caboose catagory.
Brad Sloan won an NMRA Merit Award for an HO Scale Grain Elevator. Great job Brad.
I had a great time and hope that as many of you as are possible make it to either the MCoR NMRA convention in Wichita in June, or the Frisco.org get together in Pittsburg Kansas in September.
Thanks again to all the Frisco.org folks who got together today and made it a great day!

Not to crow, but Frisco was represented pretty well in the passenger catagory as well.

    Re: Springfield Train Meet

Brad is being modest. He won first place in both steam locomotives and passenger cars. Bob Wintle won first place in freight cars. I was lucky enough to take first place in diesel locomotives. We had members take 2nd's and 3rd's as well, but I don't know who had what. As soon as I received my plaque, I hightailed out of town so my Audi and I could eat up I44 getting back to StL for a dinner date with my better half. Made it with time to spare!

frisco.org was very well represented at the show and showed its expertise well! The lunch was great fun.

    Ken

ps: I had a great time at the OMRA show in Springfield yesterday, and really enjoyed the chance to meet a number of the frisco.org members who were there. Thanks in particular to Bob Wintle for organizing the frisco.org lunch, to Ron Williams for hauling me around, and to Tom Galbraith and his wife for giving me a super "Frisco in Springfield" tour on Friday night.
