  1. Hey everyone,

I am in SE Kansas, and come from a Frisco Railroad family. Working on a N scale model of the Strip pits and coal mines of Southeast Kansas around the 1920's - 1940's. |-|

    Eric:

Welcome aboard! You have joined a very well organized and informative group. Having said that I would suggest that you do searches of threads that may have information helpful to you. I am modeling Neodesha to Fredonia and a yet to be determined point west of there in the late summer/fall of 1980. You are picking one of the most interesting areas of the Frisco to model as the strip pits were fascinating in their own right. I can help you some with the Mackie Clemens mine over at Mulberry. Just post questions and you will usually get answers.

Welcome Eric, there are several Frisco Fans here in Southeast Kansas. Therer are even a couple of N Scalers who model Frisco, Katy and Mop that live in Chanute. I am in Parsons. I used to be an N Scaler but had to go to HO due to aging. I will try to help you with anything I can. You have found the correct forum for all things Frisco. Again, Welcome and enjoy our Hobby.

Good to have on board. You're welcome to come over and tour the Frisco, 1980-style.
I agree about an interesting area to model. I can visualize lots of little engines with columns of smoke rising from the countryside while dozens if not hundreds of hoppers get moved around. With some vintage passenger ops to keep everyone honest.
Not sure what you'll be using for motive power, but don't really pay attention to the N steamers.
