This is a little off-point, but in the current Walthers monthly FLYER (ad circular), there is an announcement that they are beginning a "Fallen Flag" series of passenger trains that for the first run will include Missouri Pacific equipment painted in the blue-gray Eagle livery. Note that these are existing Walthers cars and locomotive with new paint, they are NOT MP specific (which means no 14-4 sleeper, which I really do need). In any event, the release will include a PA1, 70' HW baggage car, 56-seat coach, 48 seat diner, Budd dome-coach, 10-6 sleeper and 5 DBR-lounge. Again, I realize this will be more of interest to MPHS guys, but it does at least provide hope that maybe a Frisco/TXSP offering may be in the wings. For those wondering, the first series also includes equipment for the Rio Grande, NKP, D&H and E-L. Rolling stock varies from road to road, so no Erie-Lackawanna domes.

It seems that the trains in this series are all powered by Alco PA diesels. If Walthers does another series perhaps they could do an MKT version of the Texas Special. The PAs were known to travel in Frisco territory as far St. Louis Union Station.

If you notice, one of the new cars for this series is a 56 seat coach. While not perfect to the Frisco/MKT, they are a very close match. Looks like only a couple of windows at one end.

I was thinking since (Walthers) Proto previously offered an E8 in Frisco livery, it could be resurrected for an SL-SF/MKT offering.

The most interesting thing in the Fallen Flag line for a Frisco modeler is probably the "newly tooled" Arch Roof for the DRG&W and EL ACF Baggage cars. Hopefully Walthers will do a good representation of an ACF factory Arch Roof. For those that don't know, that would enable us to do a very accurate Frisco 70' Arch Roof Baggage car, since the Walthers car (an MP prototype) is, with the exception of the clerestory roof, identical to the Frisco 381-390 and 425-429 series cars.
