A few dream layout shots from KC West bottoms and KC Union Station. Anybody care to guess what scale this layout is? Dale Rush Carthage, MO
IT IS 1:1. Dale has done a fine job of blurring the far and near. Especially notice the reflections in the puddles on #3 and #4.
Ok this would be my dream layout if I had the modeling skills of George Selios and the bank account of Bill Gates! Happy April Fools Day and thanks for playing along. 1:1 scale as most surmised. First photo is Kansas City Union Station. Last three photos are KC West Bottoms. All were edited using software on a website at http://tiltshiftmaker.com/ Very easy to use software and free. You only have to select the right perspective to make a convincing "model" shot out of a protoype shot. Wish my modeling looked half this good. Dale Rush
Speaking of vast model layouts of Kansas City, has anyone heard an update on Dr. Nick Muff's huge KC Union Sation layout? Or seen pictures? Thanks, Tom
I get periodic updates from Dr. Muff. He is finished with Union Station and all I can say is WOW! What a building. Maybe I should have said I wish I had the modeling skills of Nick Muff in my previous post. What he has done by modeling a real building (KC Union Station) and modeling it to the detail level he did takes more modeling skill than building a fantasy building from ones imagination. He is also finished with the Union Station area trackage and structures too. Very nicely done with spectacular lighting. Last update I received was late February and he is working on the KCT roundhouse and turntable area west of KCUS. Dale Rush Carthage, MO
