Pictured here is a heavyweight passenger car in Maintenance of Way service. Can anyone tell what kind of passenger car it was? Photograph taken in twilight hour of an August 1979 evening at Valley Park MO by Rich Lawler.

Based on the overall design and the window arrangement, the car appears to be a 12 section - 1 drawing room ex-Pullman sleeping car. The Frisco bought several of these in 1948 from Pullman and leased them back for operation on the Will Rogers and other trains. I know one was named "Laidlaw" and have an Art Johnson photo of it taken in Springfield in service in 1948.

I think that you've nailed it, Ken. I've found a photo of a model of a 12-1 Pullman sleeping car and it matches up pretty close. Thanks!
