I didn't paint and decal these, but I did remove the factory lettering, renumber, and weather, It's still a fair bit of work with tiny decals. I removed the old factory number on two cars with a pencil eraser and rubbing alcohol. It left the paint underneath mostly intact. I don't like to change one or two numbers because it looks obviously different to me, so instead I did the whole number. The new decals were very slightly larger so I had to scoot them down a bit to fit. I don't mind as they are easier to read. Then I dull coted with Testors and weathered with white oil which was way too strong and about turned the whole thing white, even after removing as much as possible. A coat of burnt umber wash brought enough of the brown back to look just OK. I left the roofs on the white side of things to look faded. The third car is an original with weathering only. I couldn't find a pic in the archive that looked like these, but there some alternate body styles that had loosely similar lettering. It was a factory paint job though, by Roco. Go figure.

  2. They look believable enough.

I like all things Frisco. I freely admit: I'm anal about my chosen era, I'm a somewhat anal when it comes to the Frisco's diesel engines, and maybe a bit anal about their cabeese...

HOWEVER... like Lady Chatterly, I'm easy when it comes to rolling stock. If it "looks" Frisco... that's good enough for me. SO...

To me those look great. If they were HO and compatible with my era (I don't know if they were still in service in 1964)... I'd run them in a heartbeat and be glad I had them.

    Enjoy!

P.S. Sitting here with me is long time model/life friend Jimmy (he's a very good modeler) and he's impressed with your modeling skills, too! 'Yer doin' yer dad proud!
