From Richard Crabtree on Frisco Rails Across Missouri.

Here we are the Frisco depot at Pomona, Missouri in Howell County.

Nestled between Willow Springs, MO and West Plains, MO.

The Kansas City, Springfield and Memphis, aka Frisco came through here in 1882.

A post office called Pomona, MO has been in operation since 1895.

The community was named for Pomona, the Roman goddess of fruit trees. This area was a major producer of apples.
