Folks, Olathe, KS is listed as a "coaling station" in the 1925 List of Stations. It indicates capacity as "cars," e.g. cars of coal that would be hand-shoveled. I have a couple of questions as to how this would pan out, vis-a-vis operations: (1) Does anyone have photos of this type of arrangement in Frisco territory? (2) If not, perhaps someone can point me to another railroad's approach, assuming that it would have been similar to the SL-SF? (3) Specifically in Olathe, I'm trying to determine where would any hoppers or gondolas full of coal have been parked? Thanks, in advance, for any insight that can be provided! Best Regards,
