    Hi
I'm building a "freelance" of the Cassville and Exeter Railroad and found the threads on it to be very helpful.

I pmd one poster about the name of the manufacturer of the Mity Mite engine( a "Junge"?) and, whether, somehow I got it in the back of my head, C and E maybe had a "forney" type engine at one time. If anyone knows I'd greatly appreciate any info.

James, the only motive power that I'm aware of for the C&E is an ex-Frisco Mogul that was sold to the C&E in the late 20s/early 30s, perhaps.

I'm also thinking that an ex-Frisco motor car was sold, and that it ultimately replaced the 2-6-0.

I'm using Joe Collias' Frisco Power as a basis for this, but do not have it with me. Maybe others can confirm.

    Best Regards,

caer2001ajs.jpg Is this the engine of which you speak? (Moderator: please delete if I am violating a copyright. This is from the rr-fallenflags.org site.)

    Hi guys
    thanks for the comments
I guess that was what I was thinking of, got it mixed up in my mind....i just was fascinated that there was a variety of stuff on such a small line, so yes the doodlebug thing
as to the picture, yes that is the engine maybe it is a "Junge". I can't find a similar engine so i think i'll have to kitbash or just build it

James, a picture of a former C&E steam locomotive is on display in the former C&NW commuter car at our museum. Our hours are 2-4 P.M. Saturdays, May-October, weather permitting. More information is available at rrhistoricalmuseum@zoomshare.com

Follow-up today indicates the C&E RR #345 looks like an ex Frisco unit as the coon skin emblem is visible. It is a 2-6-0, to the best of our knowledge.

    Hope this helps,

From my notes CE 345 was a Frisco 2-6-0, former SLSF same number, previously 245 and 842. Baldwin 1892.
They also had CE 2644, a former MP 4-6-0, built for StLIMS as their 685 by Baldwin in 1892. It was replaced by 2001, which was a Plymouth that came from the Joplin-Pittsburg RR in 1954

Dale is a Board Member on The Railroad Historical Museum. He took two shots Saturday, June 4, 2011 of pictures we have on display at our museum. One pictures is of Cassville & Exeter RR steam locomotive #2644, another a nicely written letter concerning riding on an engine on the C&E, believed to be #2644. Both of these are on display is our museum.
If this is useful information, perhaps Dale or I can forward these to Frisco.org. I am not sure just how to attach them to this e-mail. FYI, the hand written page mentions the engine they rode on was a "little ten wheeler"
