    To All:

This may not be an ordinary new product post but is probably of intense interest to those on the site that frequently talk about detailing their cars and share what that they use. ExactRail has just announced the availability of 22 sets of detail parts, 19 in HO scale and 3 in N scale. Below is the link:

I would appreciate it if those that like to use these to provide feedback which ones (if any) can be applicable to Frisco cars.

    Thanks in advance!

Bob, these parts look intriguing to me, especially the end ladder sets. That is one detail I have had to jury rig on some of my cars that had them. The X panel roofs are unknown to me. Someone else will have to weigh in on any specific cars Frisco had with them. The door track and detail parts are also interesting. I think I will buy the track for a 12' plug door as I am in the process of gathering parts for a Frisco NACC leased car (14127) shown on page 80 in Nick Molo's book. I have a Walthers undecorated NACC 50' RBL which I decided to use as a model of the Frisco car because of the unique 12' plug door which was the largest on the Frisco. I will have to change out the door on the car with a new 12' door. I have bought parts from Moloco, Mask Island decals (the 12' door), and I will order the 12' track from ExactRail. I will say, however, that I can purchase from Moloco the exact draft gear for the particular car I may be super detailing which I believe is a better option than the ExactRail draft boxes and covers. That said, it is good to see more detailing parts available to us today as we can take a car that needs enhancing and improve it immensely.

Bob, thanks for the heads-up. For my era, the side mounted, bolted square stirrups might be usable. Otherwise, it looks like a lot of good quality, later-era detail parts. I'll defer to the 60s-70s Frisco rolling stock mavens.

Good find, and thanks for the heads-up!

    Best Regards,
