    Dave and All:

At the time of introduction, Athearn said it would produce the GP15-1 in every road that bought them, including the Apalachicola Northern which owned three. The Frisco and the CNW were the only railroads to opt for the normally aspirated model vs. the more expensive one with the inertial air filter. The first run included the CNW model so I would hope that the second one would include the Friso one. If one just can't wait and wants to paint a Frisco one, Athearn is also producing an undecorated version of both models. You would have to at least modify the nose by ading a gyra-light.

In regards to the GP7, that is a huge undertaking on the part of Athearn and many RR's had them. Being a Genesis model means more fidelity to prototype than their regular line. When the first run comes out, if a Frisco version is not part of it, hopefully it will also include an undecorated version so that aspiring modelers can get one and paint it. I hope this address's some of your concerns.

  2. Tell them to offer a Black & Yellow GP7 #555. They already have made F #5010, so if they made the 555 they could sell them as a pack to represent the Mansfeild,MO crash.:) I'd buy one. I model the early 1950's so there safe on my layout. For now....
    Ship it on the Frisco!!!

If they make one or two in O/W I might be able to squeeze one in on my late 70's layout.

When I return home to St Louis, I'll post some additional pics we have located of the Mansfield wreck involving SLSF 555 and SLSF 5010, among others.

  5. Cool. It seriously looked like the t-rex from Jurassic Park. took a nice bite out of 5010. I'm heading to St. Louis next friday besides Union Station and NMOT what other good railroad places are there in St. Louis. I'm staying in the St. Louis Marriott West in St. Charles. It would be a cool set though.
    Ship it on the Frisco!!!

Murphy, this is off subject thread-wise but since you are going to the NMOT and Union Station, there are other Frisco specific things you will want to see:
Meramec Highlands Station (house) and Tunnel:

    Watson Road overpass:
    http://www.frisco.org/vb/showthread.php?t=1553

    Lansdowne Ave overpass:

Also a nicely preserved station (albeit not Frisco) is in Kirkwood at the following location and just a few blocks south on Kirkwood Rd is a decent hobby shop (Hobby Station) on the corner of Monroe and Kirkwood Rd:

  7. Thanks for the info. I hope to enjoy next fridays trip. I'm meeting fellow Frisco fan Dominque Hogue in Springfield,MO on the way there. I hope to return with the 1st place prize in the band comp. Now to bring the topic back. Will these look anything like what Atlas did in N scale??? I hope they do a few in Black & Yellow.
    Ship it on the Frisco!!!

    Murphy -

Other StL St louis Frisco locations of interest:

o Webster Groves passenger station, on Big Bend Road in Webster
    o Lindenwood Yard
o Valley Park - Frisco and MoPac side-by-side a block or so apart
o Geyer & Big Bend Road crossing - famous Frisco picture spot

I'd be happy to meet up with you at NMOT Friday to show you the Frisco items and to show you around, except I'll be in Rolla that day.

    Murphy,

Do not forget Frisco caboose SLSF 398 in Valley Park.

There is also an as yet unidentified Frisco caboose at the the Museum of Transport. Unfortunately at last report it is in a very sad shape.

    Hope this helps.

    Thanks!

  10. Thanks Guys. I'm on a very very tight schedule with band I will do what I can though. Last year I was lucky to see some action from my hotel in Dallas. There was a yard near by and elevated DART trains raced by the windows of the hotel. Thanks again.
    Sincerely,

    Murphy Jenkins:)
