Would like to buy an Athearn F unit chassis, with the Hex drives. I also need the screens that run down the sides I think they were Farr screens (please correct me if thats wrong).
Please PM me, if have any of these parts you can part with :) :)

You are the MAN Tom!! No Sir, I had no idea they were making those. I will check them out tomorrow.
No end to the knowledge base here.
    Thanks!

According to their site, they don't make F units grills only E unit grills. I wonder if an E grill could be trimmed to fit an F unit.

I'd think with some careful work and a little "eyeballing," the E-unit grilles that represent the "stamped" version (vertical slots) could be trimmed to fit an F-unit.

Thats what I am wondering too, wonder if they can be trimmed too. They sure had me going there with the f grills listed on their site. Should have known the ? mark was a flag. I am telling you these Farr grills have been the biggest challenge to come up with.
I have since found out that Intermountain makes them too, but are a tad short for the Highliner shell. Plano says too many people make them, Ha, Just my luck, I cant find a single one, even folded in half screen. Oh well, Will keep looking. I know in a hobby shop or in someones junk drawer there is a set lying there. Detail Associates (Part # 2701) made some for E units that was able to be trimmed to fit, that what I used on the O/W F9B I have.
This one is gonna be B/Y with the Y strips still intact, I have located 1 photo to support the build.

As I have studied the F7s and F9s, I think I see the horizontal grill used on the F7a and b units and the FP7a units and the Farr grill on the the F9s. Am I correct or am I missing something? I agree with Tom about not being able to find any F unit Farr grills. I do have the horizontal grills to change a couple of my Genesis F3s to F7s. I will keep searching and post it if I find the Farr grill. The Plano site is the only place I have found both the Farr and horizontal grill, but, as already mentioned, they are for E units.

Tom, I have one Erie Lackawanna Genesis F3 shell with grilles that could be yours if you need it.

I believe Highliner, the originator of the Athearn Genesis F-unit shell, has Farr grills for the F9. That's what Athearn uses for their FP Genesis units. I may even have a set.

    Hi Ken
Highliners is where I went first, they have none and no ETA, he has not returned an email for a month, Detail Associates has no ETA, Walthers has no eta for any either. Plano says they dont need to make them as there are apparently too many on the market.
But fear not, Rich Lawler AKA pensive, came to the rescue! He had the DA 2701 I was looking for. Now all I need is the Hex drive for the thing, that might be taken care of too.
Did I say this is a great bunch of people or what??
