Hello everyone. Hello Mike. I'm a long time Frisco modeler and fan. I've modeled in HO since '75, and have added a second scale around 10 years ago. My large scale interests comprise mostly of steam and varnish, with my primary locomotive being the 1060 before the Hudson rebuild. A consist similar to the Meteor is slowly becoming a reality. A very accurate model of the 4501 has been started, along with a battery powered U25b to be finished next year sometime. A picture of the 1060 from a few years ago is in my album. My HO collection is varied, and seems to contain more that I need. A small unsceniced 9x6 layout takes up part of the garage. Anyway, I look forward to researching the vast knowledge and conversing with the good folk here. Darren McNeely Garland, Texas
Welcome Darren, your inputs will be valued. Your name is familiar too. Have you published in any of the magazines? Doug
No published works. If you ever hung out on #frisco on Usenet, you might have seen my name. I've been active in the modeling scene in Dallas for years. Usenet seems like ages ago...
Darren, Were you at one time involved with the Spring Creek Modular railroad group in the North Dallas area? The name seems familiar, for some reason! Bradley A. Scott
From 1987 (?) to about 2002. Great bunch of guys. We rebuilt the layout around 2001, and I became a frustrated HO'er. Darren McNeely
Thanks for the post, Darren, and welcome. Good to see more steam era modelers in the fray! I vaguely recall your name when all there existed was the frisco@nshore e-mail group and the initial website. Boy did I know very little back then (and I've not progressed terribly!). Best Regards,
