To All: The following is a post from another forum about a fire at Lake Junction Models. Although they don't produce any models specific to the Frisco some of their products like their Ozark Café, Boxcar Storage Shed, and Privy's would look at home on any layout. I plan to keep all of you posted on when they are back up and running and as the message says, if anyone has an outstanding order with them, please be patient. "Bill Hoss called me this afternoon and the building used for theproduction of Lake Junction Models had caught fire and there is considerable damage to the contents and the building will need to be replaced. Bill suffered 1st and 2nd degree burns but otherwise is doing fine. Bill’s computer was also damaged in the fire and at the present he is unable to respond to emails. For those that have ordered laser kits and not received them, Bill plans to fill these orders once he is back up and running but given the fire was today and due to the extent of the damage it is too early to project when that will be. Bill appreciates everyone’s patience during this time of rebuilding his company. Charlie Duckworth"
That's awful! Bill is a good guy and a meticulous modeler and manufacturer and I hope he's OK and back up soon.
To All: I have visited the Lake Junction Models site many times and will probably find a place for the Ozark Café on my layout. Of course no layout of the correct era can have enough privy's! I also had the opportunity to see many of the buildings recently on Charlie Duckworth's beautiful Missouri Pacific layout. Having said that, I have often wondered why Bill hasn't produced at least one Frisco building, possibly a small frame depot. I do realize that Dale Rush at Blair Line has produced several depots but not one of the smaller frame ones. Anyone else have any thoughts on this matter?
Agree with Don - Bill is a good fellow. I remember talking with him often at Tinkertown. Hope he recovers quickly, and his business does as well. Bill is a Mopac guy. I seem to remember for a while he was the editor for the MPHS "The Eagle". Ken
