Lake City, AR, Jonesboro, Lake City and Eastern (JLC&E) Railroad, Jonesboro Subdivision, MP 278.1

Discussion in 'Depots G-P' started by friscoinarbyrd, Feb 25, 2012.

  1. I was the next-to-last freight agent for the Frisco before the freight operations, such as they were with one train a month, were consolidated into the Monette depot.

I would appreciate a posting of the old Lake City depot.

Sadly, it never occurred to me, back in 1967, to take a digital photograph of the old depot.

I have found a picture of the depot in Lee A. Dew's "The JLC&E The History of an Arkansas Railroad" but do not have a means to scan it.

    Ideas, anyone?

Richard, any chance you could send me your list of depot photographs?

Did you by chance ever work Leachville?

Even though the Frisco (JLC&E) depot at Leachville was at the Frisco-Cotton Belt crossing, and a train order office for Frisco, I assume that it was no longer a joint agency after Cotton Belt built their depot in the early 1930s.
