I was the next-to-last freight agent for the Frisco before the freight operations, such as they were with one train a month, were consolidated into the Monette depot. I would appreciate a posting of the old Lake City depot. Sadly, it never occurred to me, back in 1967, to take a digital photograph of the old depot. I have found a picture of the depot in Lee A. Dew's "The JLC&E The History of an Arkansas Railroad" but do not have a means to scan it. Ideas, anyone?
Send me your E-mail address to me at the following. renapper@centurylink.net I will send the Lake City depot from the book, I have copied it for you.
Did you by chance ever work Leachville? Even though the Frisco (JLC&E) depot at Leachville was at the Frisco-Cotton Belt crossing, and a train order office for Frisco, I assume that it was no longer a joint agency after Cotton Belt built their depot in the early 1930s.
