Hoxie, AR depot. The depot was a joint agency shared by Frisco, whose line runs left to right, and Missouri Pacific which runs lower left towards upper right. Date and photographer unknown. But clothing, etc., would indicate probably late 1910s - early 1920s.

Hoxie, AR Attached are photographs taken of the Hoxie, AR interlocking plant. This is where the Frisco (BNSF) line from Springfield, MO to Memphis, TN crosses the St. Louis, Iron Mountain and Southern (SLIM&S) Railroad (UP - ex-MP) line from Saint Louis, MO to Little Rock, AR. In the first photograph the containers on the left is where the depot used to stand. The highway that parallels the MP track is U.S. Highway 67. Photographs taken July 8, 2011. Rich
Rich, Thanks for the photographs. Anyone know the purpose of the small, brick building? Looks like interlocking equipment, I would presume. In any event, it looks like a nice vintage structure from independent SL-SF/MOP days. Best Regards,
Chris, The building does appear to be made of brick on a concrete foundation with a wood soffit and roof though I cannot tell what the roofing material is. That door sure looks weather beaten! Perhaps it was built a little before the depot was torn down. Anybody know when that was? I agree that it probably houses interlocking equipment. Rich
