In the July 2015 Railroad Model Craftsman, there's an article about Don's detailing of a PFM Frisco 1500, turning it into a superb version of 1522! Super work along with some tips for modeling brass. Also RMC is back and never better!

The KC gang is now publishing RMC. Now all they need is to get Tony Koester back.

Kevin EuDaly and his WhiteRiver Productions company are doing a great job. They publish a whole bunch of the railroad historical society publications and now they have added RMC from Carstens. Do they publish R&R as well?

WhiteRiver is located in Bucklin, MO, not KC.

    Kevin does good work.

I am looking FWD to Don's article for sure, he is such a treasure of information and knowledge. I am enjoying my RMC mag just got my first issue a couple weeks ago, but regret not getting the subscription in time to see Rick McClellan's article. The mag has a refreshing air about it.

Ken, I think Doug was referring to Steve Priest in KC who is editor and a close friend.

Agree, but Doug mentioned the publisher being the "KC gang". The publisher is Kevin EuDaly's WhiteRiver Publishing Co, also a friend, who is in Bucklin, MO, out in north central MO.

Whatever! Glad to see that RMC is still alive, and in my mind, better than ever. Doug's point was valid - I don't think RMC was ever the same after Tony Koester left them.

Ha!, good suggestion Karl! Don should time his submission such that the article appears in the April, 2016 issue.

I for one, would really rather see (A LOT MORE OF) Don Wirth's modeling than his "Photo-Shopping," on this site and in the model magazines!! His expert steam engine modeling doesn't have near enough appreciation or exposure!

One of my projects is to photograph my whole roster. Wish I had a backdrop like the West Shop wall like Frisco did.

I take most of them with the hillside in the background, but always liked the overhead shots like the 4300 and Hudson taken from the roof of the adjoining shop building at the West Shops. I'm not that good at Photoshop. Maybe I'll just use the hillside and "get 'er done".
