Hey Y'all, If anyone has a photograph of a Frisco flat car from the 1890-1915 circa, please PM me. I am in need of one or two photos. Thank you! Manny
I don't have time right now (leaving for work), but there's a good picture of one or two in the book "The North Arkansas Line" by Dr. James Fair. In particular, look for the picture that has Engine #3 shoving a couple of flats over the newly completed Kings River Bridge... thereon will be a St.L & SF flatcar, circa 1903. Andre
Andre, Thank you for the lead. Not trying to be a pain, but is the picture far away, up close? Can you clearly see the details on the car? Thanks, Manny
Here you go Manny. The flatcar is not in full view. I had forgotten that. However, thus far, it's the best pics you've got of one! Andre
More info on that car: 1901 ORER, SLSF Flat Car 500-508, 30 foot, 36000 lbs, 9 cars 1901 ORER, SLSF Flat Car 509-519, 32 foot, 36000 lbs, 19 cars Okay, great. I have all the technical data on the sides of the car. That works. Please, if you have any other photographs, please post them for me. I really appreciate it. Manny
Not the best of quality, but I think an interesting photo (cropped from a larger image). This SL&SF flat car was photographed at Van Buren, AR in 1885. It is one of several virtually identical cars that were being used to transport limestone from a quarry on the Eureka Springs Railway near Beaver Sta. for the construction of the Arkansas River railroad bridge piers. Thanks John. That gives me some ideas as to the Frisco's changes to accommodate its customers. Please keep posting up any photos that you find. Thanks! Manny
I'm still looking for pictures of Frisco Flat cars prior to 1920. Please kindly post them up if you have them. Thanks! Manny
