Got a couple boxes of SLSF related material a few weeks ago.
Went thru it tonight and there are a few Frisco treasures. From signal dept. 1905 manuals to 1979 operating rule books, several 1945, 1957 rule books (man, I sure wish we had this size of rule books now). There is a Rand McNally, Missouri map of "auto trails" and "RR lines" I cannot find a date on this anywhere. The auto stuff is on one side and the RR is the other.
I feel all is in good shape for the age of this stuff. I will take pictures and try to find time and get some posted.

I am going to list these in separate posts, to try and keep my confusion down and give hopefully a more clear understanding of each item. I am not a book worm at all so please forgive me if my descriptions are not proper. Some of these might be large files to try and show as much detail as I can for you.

    |-|This is a plastic binder, loose leaf type book. No date for the document that I can find. Has a short Bio on the listed Board of Directors (BOD). This includes a list of the BOD for the QA&P as well, L W Menk's Bio is on the last page.
This is in good shape and the pages appear to have no tears and minimal wear.
I have no idea what any of this stuff is worth, if anything.|-|

This is a paper back type bound book.
    The Federal Railway Signal Company
    Date 1905
The book cover is starting to decay a bit but the pages are in excellent shape, I think it needs to be taken care of.
Many pages of technical data as well as detailed illustrations through out the book. Interesting stuff here, you can get an idea of just how significant the nations railways were at the time.

Looked through the last box tonight and just a few additional items left to go through, and a few are duplicates of what has been posted already. If there is anything new you will see it.
If this stuff is worth saving let me know. I will ship to anyone that wishes to get this stuff, but I would ask that you share, if not post the documents for the "Frisco Nation" to view, it was given to me so I don't really want anything for any of it. I feel most of this is a burden for some to scan and post, (I certainly do not have the time or PC to do it) as some of these are 50-200 pages of documents.
But if you do want it, you will need to pay the actual shipping costs,(US Priority Mail, or Flat Rate, which ever is cheaper). Reason is, I can print postage at my house and the US Postal letter carrier will pick up here.
Please let me know so we can "get it going"|-||-|
    Thanks

    Tom -

I'll take the operating data sheets booklet if it is still available. I'd like to see it and understand it - and would be happy to post it for others to see.

    Let me know the postage.

It is all yours Ken, I will get it in the mail, and let you know, I cant see it being more than 5-6 bucks. That is a really neat little book with a great deal of info in it, about Frisco's train management and blocking.
I am glad you got it.

Thanks Tom! Throw in the BOD Bio booklet as well if it is still available. If not, that's OK.

Be interesting to read the bios during the Menk era, which ended while I was in school at MSM in Rolla.

Let me know the postage and I'll send you a check.

I have copies of many of the others - rule books, listing of stations, etc. The Frisco, like most railroads, published a lot of neat stuff.

    Ken

ps - I've been busy on eBay buying some naval history books. Be good to get some Frisco stuff in the mail again!

  16. I'm interested in the list of stations if it is available. I could use scanner that came with my new laptop to post the information inside.
Any idea how much postage would be on a item like this?

Murphy It will be 5-6 bucks but it will have more in it than the one booklet:D Would you want any of the other stuff? might as well fill the PM Box up right? It costs more to drive down to the PO stand in line for 1/2 hr so I just use "click-n-ship" from home.

Ken No problem my friend I have have them boxed up.
