Thanks for sharing. Question though. What does it mean by prepay? Second why is their stations listed that aren't stations at all. Example: where I noticed this at was Ash Grove sub. Between Liberal and Lamar 3 of the 4 "stations" listed aren't stations. The only one that is is Iantha. Vincent, Wimmer and Hornaday where all very small stock yards that were built along the tracks when KSFS&G first built the line through there in 1880, and none of them where there by 1886. So why list something that hasn't existed in 30+ years?
I think the meaning of this one (and someone can correct me if I am wrong) is that there isn't an agent at the station, so you can't pay COD (Cash On Delivery). See http://www.merriam-webster.com/dictionary/station A station is "a regular stopping place in a transportation route" (see the first part of definition 3A above). While this can refer to a structure at a regular stopping point, there is no requirement for a structure to exist. Paul
I think you have to understand that for a railroad, a station is a posted sign, there does not have to be a depot for there to be a station. Richard
