While I know that this is not the most poular of scales for sl-sf fans here is another offering like the rail trucks before. Frisco FA's look good in any scale. Thanks for checking them out. Steve Hurt

    Howdy Steve,

Wow, very nice Alcos. The paint and weathering is fantastic (even if you did just run them out back to get the dirt and dust on the trucks ;)).

Thanks for sharing them with us; please post more of your Frisco equipment in G gauge.

    Best Regards,
    mike

Whether apocyrphal or not, I recall reading somewhere about a large-scale modeler who had an operating and fully functional rotary snowplow. Perhaps others can confirm or deny.

Perhaps that's my missing element in my garage-layout space, sans heat. With apologies to Mark Twain, I often "entertain myself by freezing to death." Perhaps larger scales in the backyard with a Jordan spreader is the way to go! :)

Now that I've taken the siding...I'll come back to the main. Nice FA examples, Steve, and many thanks for sharing. Good to see the SL-SF in the other scales.

I'm not a G-scaler, but my train club maintained one for a long time.... I haven't seen the rotary snow plows, but I know they exist.

I have seen wedge plows used on outdoor G-scale layouts.

  6. Thanks for the input guys. I'll post some others asap. I have u25b 813 in black and yellow finished and am about 75% done with 807 in orange and white. I'll post some pics. as it sits. High hood conversion is quite a challenge. The trucks are about the only pieces that aren't diffrent from the hi hoods to the low hoods. Evergreen styrene should have sponsered the project. Yes, G-scale runs in the snow, as seen here. Here is a shot of the West Mesa & Tumbleweed, after the big snow in 2007 near Albuquerque NM.

You have not heard of the WM&T, well it is part of the old A&P right of way surveyed by General Fremont. It is a jointly operated branchline of the Frisco and Santa Fe. continuing the mainline from Vinta OK to Albuquerque NM
