Anyone seen the repainted Frisco caboose on E-Bay? $5000 doesn't sound bad, but transporting it from Mobile to Cedar Hill would probably be $15,000!! Oh, well, another one goes bye bye! Dan
Re: E-Bay caboose Wonder who the bider is. Hope they repaint her in Frisco colors. 5 grand isn't bad I saw some on OMR for over 40,000. Be a nice thing to put in my backyard. Ship it on the Frisco!!! Murphy Jenkins

Hello everyone, glad to be a new member to the board. Myself and a collegue purchased the caboose and will move it soon to its new home to begin a full restoration. It will be on display at a museum. Any pictures and information is helpful. It is number 1173. We would like to know the build date and if it was originally one of the ATSF cabs. We would be happy to post pics as the restoration progresses if anyone is interrested. Thanks again.
It isn't a Santa Fe caboose. It is an all Frisco car. I don't know the exact build date, but it is from the 1920's. The 1160 a car in the same class is in Fort Smith,AR I'll look up more info on it as time comes. Have fun with your restoration project. Ship it on the Frisco!!! Murphy Millican
Does the caboose have a rounded roof or a peaked roof? I believe the ATSF cabooses had a rounded roof, whereas the original Frisco cabooses had peaked roofs. The Frisco original Frisco rear cupola cabooses had three evenly spaced windows forward of the cupola on the right side whereas the ATSF cabooses appear to have had one window nearly under the cupola with the other two further forward - the three were not evenly spaced. Post some current pix and we all can help.
