What a great shot.
4 (hand over heart) Frisco GP40-2's I mean what a great shot, and in such great scenery.
That's a great shot, but looks a little different this evening, the green pasture to the right of the river is totally underwater.
Somewhere I either have or have seen a shot of a 4500 there.
I have a paper copy of the photo you are talking about. It is labeled as "4508 New Dixon Frisco neg."

There is a picture of a steam era train taken at the same spot on page 288 of Joe Collias's Frisco Power.
A hike of a portion of Dixon Hill on 28 Aug 2007.
I really miss searchlight signals!
Hope this helps.
Those rock cuts really scream to be modeled.
The entire line from Newburg to Dixon is spectacular and has many portions that beg to be modeled. I was going to do part of it, but alas never did build a layout. Too late now.
Is there anyplace which maps out the old route before it was rebuilt?
Never mind. I found one that Brian Parkinson had posted.
Hope you don't mind, but I re-oriented your posted photo and cropped it a bit.
Thank You Andre, computerism is not my forte!
